The Artist.

I am a self-self-taught, professional artist based in Worcestershire and currently exhibit in galleries around the UK. I have recently gone international with buyers from Europe.

I studied art at G.C.S.E level, but, only scrapped through with a 'D ' pass and discouraged from retaking my exam. It was the end of the road for my artistic journey and I took a different career path, until...

... the summer of 2023, when I picked up the pencils again, to the delight of my family and friends, who encouraged me to share my artwork onto social media, hence Dondons Doodles was born.

I have a fondness for the natural world, whether it be water, land or wildlife. Light, reflections and colour play a huge part int my artwork too.

I pride myself with being able to draw free hand, and after working with pencils, I soon found pastels, which I enjoy working with and found them great for pet/wildlife portraits. This is where I first began, and my artwork, 'Not All Black And White...', still remains one of my most popular artworks. It has now been printed onto quality giclee prints and sold in galleries around the UK, as well as my website (Please look at Studio Shop in the menu. Thank you).

In the summer of 2024, I tried painting with acrylic. Now, I'm developing my painting skills by using palette knives and love the texture they give to a painting.

I am still developing my skills as an artist, learning on the job, as being an artist is now my full time occupation, but feel I am learning quickly and doing really well, as I am already exhibiting in galleries around the UK and already achieved my first solo exhibition too! I am excited for the future. As well as producing artwork for galleries, I also take on commissions, have online shops and help out charities too!

I am a member of Association of animal artists. (AAA)

'Just A Nibble..."

My latest commission was a request off  a returning customer. A trip to see Rothchilds giraffe at Paignton zoo helped inspire this painting. Pastel on 210gsm paper.

'Am Dro Gyda Nos...'

(Evening Stroll...)

A treasured memory of a family's holiday in Wales, this was painted in acrylic on a 40cms X 50cms canvas board, as requested.

'Tia..'

A memorial painting of a much loved pet. This was painted in pastel on A4 pastelmat and then lovingly mouted and framed in a classic dark wooden frame.

'It's A Boy...'

A gift to celebrate the birth of a baby boy, this was painted in pastel on A5 pastelmat and finished with personal details, such as baby's weight and time of birth. This was an honor creating such a personal piece and then it was lovingly mounted and framed with a classic white frame.

'Spirit Of Spring...'

This was a simple, but, elegant sketch in pencil on A5 pastelmat. Created in the spring of 2024. This was chosen by a collector who has a love of the natural world and in particular, hares. This was an absolute pleasure to paint. It was then lovingly framed in a natural oak frame.
